Charles William Whitehead, 87, of Criner, died Monday, March 20, 2017, at his home. The son of Charley Madison Whitehead and Birttie Louise (Lamb) Whitehead, he was born June 18, 1929 in Bailey, Oklahoma.

Charles married Rosemary Hudson on May 25, 1950 in Grady County. They owned and operated a dairy farm for many years. He was an active member of the Dibble Free Will Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He enjoyed building fence, farming, and raising ostriches and goats. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Bobby Long; his brother, Harold Whitehead; and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Hallmark.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Rosemary Whitehead of Criner; three daughters, Pamela Bennett and her husband, Jim, of Chickasha, Debbie Bartels and her husband, Arnie, of Dibble, and Tanya Dolton and her husband, Russell, of Mustang; one son, Bill Whitehead of Criner; an honorary son, Lewis Cox and his wife, Barbara, of Dibble; nine grandchildren, Kevin Whitehead of Chickasha, Steve Long and his wife, Christy, of Dibble, Tracey Shaw of Chickasha, Brandi Winters and her husband, James, of Chickasha, Jeannie Provence of Chickasha, Dustin Dolton of Texas, Ashlee Morton of Yukon, Kyle Bartels and his wife, Misty, of Guymon, and Kim Bartels of Texas; seventeen great grandchildren; one sister, Birdean Rice and her husband, Kenneth, of Waurika; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 24, 2017, at the Dibble Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Dibble Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
