Ronald Carl "Butch" Roath, 78, of Blanchard, passed from this life on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his family. The son of Hoss and Greta Roath, he was born September 12, 1940, in Dibble, Oklahoma.
He graduated from Dibble High School in 1958. After having to work in the broom corn fields, Butch decided to enlist in the U.S. Air Force after graduation and proudly served for four years. After the military, Butch and his dad owned and operated the APCO gas station in Dibble for many years. He then owned and operated the Roath LP Gas & Propane business in Blanchard until his retirement in 1997.
Butch married Phyllis Hurd and together had five children, Rusty, David, Kelly, and twins, Lane and Lance. He later married Sharon (McGrew) Auld and her two sons, Don and Allen. They were together for 30 years. Butch married Darlene reed and her son, Joe Chapman, and enjoyed life together until his passing.
Butch loved life and believed you should have fun and laugh a lot, but always tell the truth (unless you're just kidding) and be respectful to one another. He loved the long phone calls and visits from Lane because they always had something to laugh about. Above all, he loved the Lord and was faithful to read his Bible and pray every day.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents; two former wives, Phyllis and Sharon; three sons, Rusty, David, and Lance; stepson, Don; and special niece, Ginger Armstrong.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene, of the home; son, Lane and wife, Janine, of Moore; daughter, Kelly and husband, Scott, of Enid; stepsons, Allen Auld, and Joe Chapman and wife, Jule, of Blanchard; grandson, Sinjin Moore; granddaughter, Alexus Chapman; one sister, Donna Hayhurst and husband, Joseph, of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Hub and wife, Diana, and Dale and wife, Becky, all of Dibble; numerous nieces and nephews who were all very special to him; and many other loved ones and friends.
