Dennis "Snooks" Chester Ray, 80, of Blanchard, left this world to be with our Savior August 18, 2016 at his home. The son of John Thomas Ray and Sally Mary (Miller) Ray, he was born August 6, 1936 in Blanchard.

He married Eva Jane Simer on November 24, 1956 in Vernon, Texas. He was a beloved husband for 59 years and a beloved father to his five children. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, singing and playing guitar. Dennis was a faithful member and served as a Board Member for the last fifteen years for a church he was a cofounder of, New Home Full Gospel Church in Dibble. He had a gentle, loving spirit and everyone that knew him loved him. Dennis was the best story teller and kept all his friends and family laughing all the time. He will be dearly missed and we rejoice knowing we will see him again when we join our Savior.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Thomas “Jim” Ray; and two sisters, Loretta Pounds and Freda Halstead.

Dennis is survived by wife, Eva Ray of Blanchard, his five children Dennis "Skip" D. Ray and wife, Caresa, of Blanchard, Terry Dan "Danny" Ray of Granite, Tawanna Whinery and husband, Lynn, of Blanchard, Darrell Ray and wife, Carrie, of Snyder, and Tammie Payne of Chickasha; one sister Liza White of Blanchard; fourteen grandchildren, Dustin Ray and wife, Carrie, Derrick Ray, Dakota Ray, Desaree Ray, Travis Ray, Tony Ray, Dell Ray, Chris Douglas and wife, Brandi, Vanessa Robison and husband, Bill, Brittany Ray, Caitlyn McEntee and husband, Ryan, Kelsie Oaks and husband, Josh, Bailey Payne, and Dalton Payne; seventeen great grandchildren; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 22, 2016 at New Home Full Gospel Church in Dibble. Burial will follow in the Dibble Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
