Royce Wesley Owens, 85, of Dibble, died Thursday, May 30, 2024, at his home. The son of Lee Roy Owens and Naomi (Smith) Owens, he was born January 18, 1939, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
After high school, Royce served in the United States Marine Corps and then served in the United States Army. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the New Home Full Gospel Church in Dibble. Royce married Loretta Faye (Reed) on November 24, 2003, in Dibble, Oklahoma. In his younger years, Royce enjoyed riding horses and participating in team penning events at various rodeos. He also raised mules and loved going on wagon rides. He was a member of the 89ers Land Run Club, Cherokee Club, Territorial Club, and the Teamsters and Mule Gatherers Club. Royce enjoyed working with his hands and spent countless hours tinkering and building things. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Loretta Owens; and three brothers, Howard Dean Owens, Bob A. Owens, and Gary Lynn Owens.>
Royce is survived by his beloved dog and companion, Coco; six grandchildren, Nikki, Cindy, Shana, TC, Wesley, and David; numerous great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; one brother, Byron Owens; his stepchildren, Regina Vaughan and Tim Williams; several step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Dibble Cemetery. Loretta Faye Owens, 74, of Dibble, Oklahoma died Sunday, November 1st, 2020, in Oklahoma City. The daughter of Harold and Faye (Ashford) Reed, she was born January 8th, 1946 in Blanchard, Oklahoma.
She retired as a contractor with the FAA after many years of service. Loretta married Royce Owens on November 24th, 2003 in Dibble. She was a long-time member of the New Home Full Gospel Church in Dibble and the Red Hat Society. She had a passion for helping people and touched so many lives because of it. Loretta was always the first to take someone wherever they needed to go, take meals to a family and even just sit and visit. In her spare time, she enjoyed making flower arrangements, playing cards with family and going on wagon rides. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Loretta is survived by her husband, Royce Owens, of Dibble; one daughter, Regina Gayle Vaughan and her husband, John, of Colorado; one son, Tim Williams and his wife, Barb, of Noble; grandchildren, Nick and Brandi Nixon of Blanchard, Kristi Wiggins of Colorado, and Brett and Paige Williams of Newcastle; numerous step-grandchildren, including Nikki and Cindy; three great grandchildren, Caleigh, Jax, and Tennessee; several step great grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Lee and her husband, Montie, of Blanchard and Darlene Roath of Blanchard; one brother, Harold Paul Reed and his wife, Jackie, of Dibble; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, November 5, 2020, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Dibble Cemetery.
