Green, Thomas Edwin, 87, of OKC died April 14, 2009 at his residence.
Born June 22, 1921 in Duncan, OK to Leo Clyde Green and Marie Lanotte Green. Edwin graduated from Addington High School with the Class of 1941 and enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1942 and served till he was Honorably Discharged in 1945. He married Rheumelle Moore on June 30, 1944 in Purcell, OK and later attended the University of Oklahoma. He worked at Tinker AFB for 26 years, retiring in 1981 as an electronics technician. Edwin was a long time member of the Trinity Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed working in the church and caring for the elderly. One of his favorite pastimes is going camping and fishing with his family.
Edwin is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clyde Olin Green, and wife, Rheumelle.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan Carter and husband, Jeff of Moore, son, Larry and wife Carolyn, of Del City and four grandchildren, Shelly Wisdom, Laurie Pritchard, Christopher Green and Johnnalee Haynes and four great-grandchildren, Katie and Chloe Wisdom and Michael and Matthew Pritchard.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Dibble Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Trinity Freewill Baptist Church or Hospice of Oklahoma County.
We were truly blessed to have him as a part of our lives. He will be missed by all who knew him.
