Benjamin Cephas Fulks, 82, of Dibble, died Sunday, December 10, 2017, in Purcell, Oklahoma. He was born on the first day of Spring, March 20, 1935, to Benjamin Cleveland Fulks and Mattie Hollan-Fulks in Summerfield, Oklahoma.
As a boy and a young man, he migrated, picking cotton, working in saw mills, and working in the oilfield. He served in the United States Army and retired from the Reserves. Ben also retired from the Oklahoma City Parks Department where he worked as a heavy equipment operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleve and Mattie Fulks; three sisters, Geneva Fulks, Dorothy Starwalt, and Mazil White; and two wives, Virginia and Kathy.
Ben is survived by his wife, Freddie Wooten-Fulks of the home in Dibble; his children, Teresa Maxwell and husband, Danny, of Muskogee, Karen Kious, Polly Fulks, Teddy Wooten and wife, Angela, of Dibble, Rena George and husband, Toni, of Dibble, Burl Wooten and wife, Donna, of Blanchard, Ricky Wooten and wife, Lee Ann, of McLoud, and Todi Hale and husband, Mike, of Oklahoma City; one sister, Patsy Harrison of Oklahoma City; four brothers, J.R. Fulks of Moore, Danny Fulks of Blanchard, Avis Fulks of Noble, and Adis Fulks of Lexington; 27 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Ben had a large blended family and never considered anyone a step-child. They were all his.
Ben loved hunting, fishing, gardening, going to church, and coaching girls softball. Ben was the best, most loving father, husband, and grandpa anyone could ever wish for. We will all miss him dearly. A special thank-you from Cephas' daughter, Teresa, to Teddy Wooten and Heather Lewis for the constant care and companionship to her daddy.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 15, 2017, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial with military honors will follow in the Dibble Cemetery.
