Alta May (Higgins) Britton, 92, of Killeen, Texas, died Wednesday, October 7, 2020, in Killeen, Texas. The daughter of James Fred Higgins and Daisy May (Davis) Higgins, she was born May 15, 1928 in Dibble, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Grady Britton; one son, Carl Duane Britton, Sr.; one brother, James Elroy Higgins; great-great grandson, Randy Briggs Green; two sons-in-laws, Ed Clary and JR Moore; three brothers-in-law, JW Britton, Curtis Britton, and JD Britton; five sisters-in-law, Bernice Britton Turnbow, Clyda Britton Mize, Eunice Britton Pulis, Bessie Britton Wilhoit, and Edith Britton Chenard.
Alta is survived by her daughter, Linda Clary Moore of Killeen, Texas; three grandsons, Carl Duane Britton, Jr. and his wife, Lynette, of Midlothian, Texas, Lonnie Duane Clary and his wife, Alexia, of Spring Town, Texas, and James Fred Britton and his wife, Megan, of Groesbeck Texas; two granddaughters, Ronda Clary Green of Fredericksburg, Texas and Lori Britton Davis of Abilene, Texas; twelve great grandchildren, Cassie Britton Pace and her husband, Craig, of Midland, Texas, Kimberly Britton Barela and her husband, Benny, of Midlothian, Texas, Cynthia Britton Litke and her husband, Bobby, of Midland, Texas, Kallie Britton Dillow and her husband, Travis, of Red Oak, Texas, Randy Green and his wife D’Ann of Leakey, Texas, Kyle Green of Whitney, Texas, Rowdy Clary of College Station, Texas, Kierrea Clary, who is in the US Air Force in South Carolina, McKenna Clary of Killeen, Texas, Dylan Davis of Abilene, Texas, Brinna Davis Kelley and her husband, Caleb of Abilene, Texas, Mallory Britton, of Groesbeck, Texas; fourteen great-great children, Shayne McKandles, Whitney Pace, Jaedyn Barela, Jason Barela, Jenna Barela, Joscelyn Barela, Anthony Litke, Britton Wright, Brayden Dillow, Brooke Dillow, Melody Green, Atley Green, Brayden Green, and Lincoln James Jackson; two sisters-in-law, Edna Mae (Maisie) Britton Price of California and Jodie Britton Turner of California; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 12, 2020, at the Dibble Cemetery, Dibble, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
