John Marion Mullican III age 56 of Newcastle, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 in Oklahoma City after an extended illness.
John was born on May 30, 1959 in Oklahoma City. He was the oldest of two sons born to John Marion Mullican Jr. and Koleeta Brown. When John was five years old his father died, years later his mother married Willis Kirkham and he always thought of Willis as his father. While growing up John and his brother Russell enjoyed helping Willis on the farm in Newcastle. While living in Newcastle he attended Newcastle schools. He loved being the outdoors and loved working in the outdoors. For most of his life John worked in the oil field as a truck driver and as a heavy equipment operator. He lived and worked in various towns across Oklahoma but always called Newcastle his home. Throughout his life he enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. John was a Christian and member of the first Baptist Church in Newcastle. He had a great personality, he loved to joke and have fun. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by:
Father, John Mullican Jr.
Step father, Willis Kirkham;
Son, John Marion Mullican IV;
He is survived by:
Mother, Koleeta Kirkham of Newcastle;
Brother, Russell Mullican of Newcastle;
Six children, Cody and wife Jessica, Taylor,
Jamie Lin, Emilee, November and Breanna;
Eight grandchildren, Saige, Ridge, Lily, Finly, Calla,
Jaylin, Jaxyn and Brylee;
One niece, Patricia;
Several cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Newcastle. Interment will be in the Clopton Cemetery in Newcastle. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle.
