Steven Louis McBurnett passed from this life on May 5, 2020, at the age of 63, at his home in Byars, OK.

He was born to James and Corene (Appleby) McBurnett on June 23, 1956, in Dallas, TX. He married Sherry (House) McBurnett on October 28, 1983, in Ashdown, AR. Steve was a welder, plumber, electrician, mechanic, and a jack of all trades, but his ministry was his life. He served as youth pastor, pastor, and evangelist at different times as he followed God throughout his life.

Steve is survived by his wife, Sherry of the home; one sister, Connie Durham and her husband Tyler, of Ashdown, AR. One niece, Haley Friedman and her husband Marc, of Texarkana, AR. Special friends Dallen and Tamara Wright of Byars, OK; and a host of other family and friends who will forever miss his smile and quick wit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Corene McBurnett.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley. Bro. McBurnett will lie in state there Thursday and Friday.

There will be a come and go visitation at Dallen and Tamara Wright’s home from 5-8 pm on Friday, May 8

An outside funeral service will be held Saturday, May 9 at 10:00 am, in front of Pauls Valley Holiness Church Academy. A tent and chairs will be provided for the service.

Interment and graveside service at Byars Cemetery, in Byars, OK. Bro. Brock Wray, Bro. Dallen Wright, and Bro. Jeremy Reed will be officiating.

A meal will be served afterward at Pauls Valley Holiness Church Academy dining hall, with spaced dining tables inside and outside in observance of social distancing.
