Mary Jo Guinn, affectionately known as Jo, of Norman, Oklahoma was born October 1, 1932 in Fox, Oklahoma to John and Effie (Sparks) Qualls, also known as Johnnye.

She passed away at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family on November 8, 2019 at the age of 87 years old.

She grew up in the Byars area and graduated from Byars High School in 1951. She was employed by Southwestern Bell in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma until her marriage to Stanley Guinn on July 24, 1954. During the years that followed, she worked at Westinghouse in Norman and Solo Cup in Ada, as well as, her brother Lonnie's egg farm in Galey. She was a member of the Oil Center Pentecostal Church. She loved the women’s ministry and was involved in all the fundraisers and activities. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and sports especially the NBA, and women’s College softball. If a person didn't have a smile, she would give them one. She loved life, having fun, and telling funny stories and jokes.

Preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mildred Altom and Melba Stepp; brothers, Leroy, J.C., and Lonnie Qualls.

Survived by her husband, Stanley, of the home; one daughter, Sherilyn Suchy & husband Billy of Wanette, OK; five sons, Russell & wife Kathy of Yukon, OK, Wayne & wife Dawn of El Dorado, California, Terry & wife Sherry of Norman, OK, Chris & wife Naomi of Warr Acres, OK and Jim of Nixa, MO; two brothers, Kenneth Qualls of Byars, OK and Jerry Qualls of Colleyville, TX; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers are sons, Russell, Wayne, Terry, Chris, Jim Guinn, and great-grandson, Dustin Staats.

Honorary Pallbearers are grandsons & great-grandsons, Matthew, Weston, Chance, Grayson, D.J., and Cayden.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m, November 16, 2019 at DeArman/Pickard Chapel Stratford, OK. Officiating will be Rev. Matthew Brown and Rev. Jerry Orsburn.

Burial will be at Byars cemetery in Byars, OK.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
