Mrs. Evaline Edgmon died quietly last week at her home in Byars at the age of 91. She suffered a fractured hip two months ago. She was apparently on the mend until her condition became worse a short time ago. She celebrated her birthday on November 16 while in the McCurdy hospital.

Evaline was born in Moore county, Tennessee. She married Mack Edgmon on September 2, 1880.

In 1907 they brought their family to Byars from Decherd, Tennessee. Twelve children were born to this union, eight of whom servive.

Mrs. Edgmon was a life-long member of the Primitive Baptist church. She attended services in the Stealey community until her health made it impossible to go.

She is survived by: six sons, B.G., A.H., and Floyd of Purcell, Homer of Byars, and J.W. and C.J. of Lomita, CA., and two daughters, Mrs. Annie Johnston, Joplin, MO., and Mrs. Sue Burnett, Oklahoma City. She has 20 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Her service was conducted by Rev. West on Friday. He also officated at the funeral for her husband, Mack, in 1919.

Grandsons of the deceased served as casket bearers. They were Auvern, Gordonlee, Ward and Wilbur Edgmon of Purcell, Filmore Edgmon of Anadarko, Norman Edgmon, Byars, J.C. Edgmon, Tulsa and Jerry Burnett, Oklahoma City.
