Charles "Daddy Floyd" Wynne was born to William "Bill" Forest Wynne and Mae Harris Wynne on September 24, 1912 in Franklin, Cleveland County, Oklahoma. He and his family moved to Newcastle when Floyd was 4 years old. He attended school in a one-room school house that sat on what is now 16th Street and Portland Avenue. He attended Newcastle High School till his 10th grade. At the age of 22 years, he married Juanita Williams in Purcell, Oklahoma, on March 16, 1935. To this union their four sons were born, Denny, Donnie, Ira, and Lee. Floyd was a farmer all of his life. He enjoyed farming most of all. He enjoyed pheasant hunting and fishing. He attended First Baptist Church of Newcastle and was an Honorary Member of Newcastle FFA.
Floyd passed away on October 29, 2009 at 97 years of age.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita, of the home; sons, Denny Wynne and wife, Deborah, of Grand Junction, Colorado; Donnie Wynne and wife, Darlene, of Newcastle; Ira Wynne of Newcastle; Lee Wynne and wife, Camary, of Whitewater, Colorado; grandchildren, Steve Wynne, Bryan Wynne, Kevin Wynne, Johnny Wynn, James Wynne, Russell Wynn, Darla Allen, Thea Boden; 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous family and friends.
He is preceded in
death by his parents, one brother, three sisters, and a great-grandson.
Services
are 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 2, 2009, at the Newcastle First Baptist Church.
Reverend Bill Gentry will officiate; under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral
Home of Blanchard.
