Sam married Coleen (Start) on January 2, 1972 in Oklahoma City. He was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church in Newcastle and enjoyed hunting. Sam was most passionate about his ministry and served on staff of several churches during his life.
He was preceded in death by his father and nephew, Nicholas Whiteside.
Sam is survived by his wife, Coleen Whiteside, of Newcastle; daughters, Mary Elizabeth Cullins and her husband Coby of Rogersville, Missouri, Sarah Abigail Schneringer and her husband Kevin of Blanchard; seven grandchildren, Nathan Cullins, Caleb Cullins, Katie Cullins, Abigail Schneringer, Hannah Schneringer, Connor Schneringer, Jada Schneringer; mother, Muriel Mae Whiteside of Towanda, Kansas; sister, Sandra Taylor and her husband Raymond of Benton, Kansas; brother, Ben Whiteside and his wife Loraine of Towanda, Kansas; nephew, Matthew Whiteside; niece, Jennifer Dubus; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Beth Haven Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Dr. Mike Hays, Reverend Joe Hocking and Dr. Phil Kopyscinski will officiate with interment held in the Blanchard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Beth Haven Baptist Church, HOPE Addiction Program, 12400 S. Western Ave., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73170.
