Coleen (Start) Whiteside, 68, of Newcastle, died Monday, May 20, 2019, in Norman. The daughter of Walter James Start and Mildred Elizabeth (Denson) Start, she was born on August 18, 1950, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Coleen married Samuel Eugene Whiteside on January 2, 1972, in Oklahoma City. She worked as an aircraft title examiner for many years until her retirement. Coleen was a member of the Crossroad to Life Baptist Church in Blanchard. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafts, making jewelry, and crocheting. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 40 years, Sam Whiteside; and one sister, Gail Young.
Coleen is survived by two daughters, Mary Cullins and her husband, Coby, of Springfield, Missouri and Sarah Schneringer and her husband, Kevin, of Blanchard; seven grandchildren, Nathan Cullins and his wife, Crystal, Caleb Cullins, Katie Cullins, Abigail Schneringer, Hannah Schneringer, Connor Schneringer, and Jada Schneringer; and one great granddaughter, Bella Cullins; several nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 24, 2019, at Crossroad to Life Baptist Church in Blanchard with Pastor Greg Adams officiating.
Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
