Inez’s family moved to Blanchard when she was 3 years old and she has been a resident for the past 91 years. She attended Blanchard Schools and graduated from Blanchard High School. When she was younger, Inez had an egg route where she sold the eggs raised on her family’s farm for 50 cents per dozen. Inez married Russell Vandaveer on August 20, 1941, in Norman, Oklahoma.
Inez was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blanchard where she was active in the 3 G’s. She was very involved with the Blanchard Senior Citizen’s Center and the Blanchard Extension Homemaker’s Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed farming, gardening, canning, and traveling. Inez was a very talented quilter and spent countless hours making quilts for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell Vandaveer; two sisters, Hazel Killman and Mary Ellen Langford; and two brothers, Ray Lee Winnard and James Winnard.
She is survived by two sisters, Francis Lanelle Stander and her husband, Dick, of Springfield, Missouri and Patsy Jean Cox of San Antonio, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 27, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery, Blanchard, Oklahoma.
