William Leonard "Pete" Vail, 83, of Norman, died August 12, 2019 at his home. The son of Joseph Leonard Vail and Minnie Susanna (Carter) Vail, he was born August 6, 1936 in Massey, Oklahoma.
He married Lavern June Casey on May 26, 1973 in Del City. Pete was a member of the Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Norman. In his spare time, he enjoyed beekeeping, fishing, hunting, camping, and watching sports, especially the OKC Thunder and OU Sooners. Pete's greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and several brothers and sisters.
Pete is survived by his wife, Lavern Vail, of Norman; three sons, Dale Vail, of Newalla, Terry Bussey and his wife, Becky, of Blanchard, and David Bussey and his wife, Donna, of Norman; one daughter, Diana Jordan and her husband, Kendall, of Moore; nine grandchildren, Amber, Nancy, Brittney, Allison, Hailey, Bryce, Braden, Brody, and Abbey; eight great grandchildren, Gabriel, Sophia, Michael, Mayson, Gracie, Reid, Colt, and Elaina; three sisters, Bonnie of Michigan, Midge of Del City, and Norm of Eufaula; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 15, 2019, at the Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Norman.
Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard.
