Harvey Warren Townsend, 84, of Blanchard, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 12, 2022. Harvey was born in Lawton Oklahoma on December 25, 1937, to Oliver and Ruth Townsend
Harvey faithfully served 24 years in the U.S. Air Force as a field maintenance squadron welder from December 5, 1956, to May 31, 1979 and was honorably retired at the rank of Technical Sergeant (TSgt). He enjoyed listening to music, gardening, fishing, and going to the dirt track races with his family, spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids, attending their numerous sporting and school events. Harvey enjoyed nature, being outdoors, and dancing with his wife. He was an avid member of his church community, serving in the bus ministries and children's church for many years, and was always willing to help where it was needed.
Harvey was very much loved by his family and his many friends. Harvey will be missed.
Harvey was preceded in death by his father, Oliver; mother, Ruth; his wife, Coreena Townsend and grandson, Kyle Townsend; brother-in-law, NJ Burton; and sister-in-law, June Wood.
He is survived by four sons, Tommie Townsend and his wife Shirley, Tonie Townsend, Mark Townsend and his wife Sarah, and Monty Townsend his wife Kim; grandchildren, Heidi Sherman and family, Arlo Hurst his wife Kim and family; Joe Bates, his wife Tiffany and family; Tyler Townsend, his wife Miranda; and Bryce Townsend; great grandchildren, Ryder Townsend, Stanton Townsend, Tanner Harvey Townsend, and Kylee Townsend; sisters, Joyce Daves and Margaret Claborn-Calahan; brothers, David Townsend and Jerry Townsend and wife Jody; brothers-in-law, Donnie Burton and wife Frances and Walter Wood; sisters-in-law, Helen Timothy and husband John and Ruth Burton; and many friends and family members.
Viewing for friends and family will be held at 12:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Thursday, December 15, 2022at the Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 16, 2022, at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blanchard. Interment to follow at the Blanchard Cemetery.
