John Harold Tinsley, Jr., 90, of The Village, passed away on January 15, 2023. The son of John Harold Tinsley, Sr., and Lillie Mae (Peterson) Tinsley Sanders, John was born on April 6, 1932, in Simsboro Louisiana.
John married the love of his life, Judy Marlene Swanson. on June 5, 1962.
John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for six years. He was a radio operator serving during the Korean War. John received his bachelor’s degree in Business and Math from Central State University. He spent most of his working career as a financial manager for GMAC and Beneficial Finance. John and Judy were faithful members of the Village Baptist Church. He was very involved with the PCAA Little League Baseball. He helped coach Trey’s team when he was younger. John enjoyed fishing, collecting coins and playing cards, especially with Hank. John loved fixing things and was especially talented in the automotive area. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.
John was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Clo Berg, Bobbie Nasser and Drew Tinsley.
John is survived by his wife of sixty years, Judy M. Tinsley; two sons, John H. “Trey” Tinsley, III of Georgetown, Texas and C. Mark Tinsley of Denton, Texas; three grandchildren, Sarah E. Tinsley, Peyton E. Tinsley, and John H. “Hank” Tinsley, IV; and several nieces, nephews, and many more loving family members and friends.
Funeral Services for John will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 19, 2023, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel, Blanchard, Oklahoma. Interment to follow in the Blanchard Cemetery.
