Wadley's Funeral Service
Don Richard Tiffin died October 31, 2009 at his home in Lexington after a long and courageous fight with cancer, at the age of 70 years, 1 month, 13 days.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at First Church of God in Tecumseh, with Reverend Todd Tiffin officiating. Grave site services will follow at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at the Blanchard Cemetery under the direction of Wadley's Funeral Service of Purcell.
Don was born September 18, 1939 in McComb, Oklahoma, to Sid and Mildred Kennedy Tiffin. He was raised and graduated school in Tecumseh. Don attended ECU in Ada, UCO in Edmond and earned his Associates degree.
He was a member of the First Church of God and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1963, when he was honorably discharged. Don began his career in law enforcement at the Oklahoma City Police Department in 1963 and was also on the Las Vegas Police Department and worked for the OSBI. He ended his law enforcement career at the Moore Police Department as Chief. He retired in 2003 from OG&E. Don was the owner of Val's Smokehouse in Purcell and worked as security for Clay Crossing Women's Drug & Alcohol Rehab in Purcell.
Don in preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Tiffin.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie of the home; children, Todd Tiffin and his wife Christina of Tecumseh, Cindy McCloud, Becky Stringer and husband Phillip; step-children, Donna Paxton and husband Eddie, Monita Triplett and husband Jimmy, all of Blanchard; sister, Sherry Fry and husband Roger of Midwest City; father and step-mother, Reverend Sid and Dottie Tiffin of Tecumseh; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 nephew; 2 nieces and many other relatives and friends.
