Harold Ivan Schweitzer, 92, of Blanchard, died Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in Oklahoma City. The son of Cecil Frank Schweitzer and Julia Ann (Reimers) Schweitzer, he was born January 30, 1932, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma.
Harold was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated a gas pump supply company for many years before retiring. Harold was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle and was very involved with the Dibble Senior Citizens Center. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. He loved to read and listen to audio books. He also enjoyed tinkering and fixing things. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three wives, Viola Schweitzer, Billie Schweitzer, and Betty Schweitzer; and one brother, Howard Schweitzer.
Harold is survived by one daughter, Denise Mullins of Norman; six sons, Ronnie Schweitzer of Oklahoma City, Dennis Schweitzer of Blanchard, Ivan Schweitzer of Piedmont, Jesse Lewis and wife, Eva, of Dibble, Ronnie Lewis of Oklahoma City, and Chris Lewis and wife, Renee, of Newcastle; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Harland Schweitzer and wife, Karen, of Calumet; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle. Burial with military honors will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery.
