Nauweeta Rae “Weedy” Richey, 91, of Chickasha, died Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Chickasha. The daughter of Floyd Thomas Golden and Doshia Delores (Bond) Golden, she was born April 2, 1926, in Blanchard, Oklahoma.   

Weedy married the love of her life, William Alfred Richey, on April 21, 1945 in Chickasha. She worked for many years in the banking industry. Weedy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Chickasha and the American Angus Association. She enjoyed raising cattle and was always working to improve the Angus breed. When she was younger, she enjoyed flying. Weedy’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Winferd Golden, her sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Johnny Pettigrew; and a nephew, Johnny B. Pettigrew.   

Weedy is survived by her husband of 72 years, Bill Richey, of Chickasha; one daughter, Hyla Richey and P.J. Sanders, of Portland, Oregon; sister-in-law, Fern Dennis and her husband, George, of Blanchard; brothers-in-law, Carl Richey and his wife, Beverly, of Yukon, A.B. Richey and his wife, Nancy, of Anadarko, Jack Richey and his wife, Vera, of Oregon, and Raymond Richey of California; a niece, Jennifer “Ginger” Lewis and her husband, Larry, of Bethany; two great nieces, Jana Beeson and Jill Hurley; one great nephew, Dr. Michael McKinnon; and many other loved ones and friends. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Linda Johnson, Mike Graham, Martha Seaton, David Moore, Brandon Moore, Judy Airington, the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living, Lifeline Home Health and Hospice, and Comfort Keepers. We are grateful for the skill, dedication, care, and comfort you used in caring for Weedy. We love you! 

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard.

Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
