Dorothy F. Putman, of Norman, passed away on March 26, 2023.

Dorothy was born on August 30, 1941, in Blanchard Oklahoma to Jesse Quinton and Ruth Selmer (Woods) Findley.

Dorothy married, Velter Dane Putman, the love of her life, in 1958 at the Baptist Church in Goldsby, Oklahoma. They were happily married for almost 65 years before his passing in January.

Dorothy was a proud member of the Washington High School Class of 1959. This group remained close and she enjoyed spending time with them and going to lunch together.

Dorothy worked for Liberty Drug for a time. She retired from the University of Oklahoma where she was a housekeeping supervisor for thirty years.

She and Dane were active members of Westwood Baptist Church where she served as the church clerk for many years. She loved traveling and all of the adventures she had with Dane, William, Donnie, Jimmy and Dorothy. She also enjoyed bowling and doing crotchet. Most of all she loved her family! Until Dane’s illness, Dorothy never missed an event that involved her kids or grandkids. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Velter Dane Putman; and brothers, Jimmy Findley, Jackie Findley, and Roland Bowling.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Dana Washburn and husband Bobby, Kenny Putman and wife Debbie, Kelly Ireland, and Elcide Davis, Jr.; grandchildren, Nick Hailey and wife Lacey, Anthony Hailey and wife Jennifer, Saphronia Adkins and husband Randall, Kayla Southern and husband Brandon, Christina Hailey Dischinger, and Latonya Davis Erebholo; great grandchildren, Brody Hailey, Hunter Hailey, Orin Adkins, Landon Hailey, Grayson Hailey and Kenzie Grace Southern; seven extended great grandchildren, Isaiah, Ezra and Chase Erebholo, and Amanda, Samantha, Joseph and Jonathan Dischinger; sister, Donna Putman; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Findley and Beverly Novich; and many more loving family members and friends.
