Roger Lee Mooney, 72, of Blanchard, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023, in Oklahoma City.
The son of Milton Edward Mooney and Beulah Faye (Foley) Mooney, he was born on July 17, 1951, in Houston, Texas.
Roger married Cynthia Ann Curry on August 10, 1974, in Arlington, Texas. In his early career, he served as a firefighter and paramedic with the Dallas Fire Department. Roger worked as the office manager for the Texas Workforce Commission for many years. After retirement, he and Cindy moved to Blanchard where he attended Blanchard Methodist Church. In his spare time, Roger enjoyed working on his farm, trimming trees, and reading. He had a “sweet tooth” and his favorite part of every meal was dessert. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Roger is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cindy Mooney of Blanchard; one son, Matt Mooney and his wife, Alyssa, of Garland, Texas; one daughter, Megan Beardsley and her husband, Glenn, of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren, Marshall, Eve, Alice, and Elliot; one sister, Linda Mooney of Graham, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard. A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 8, 2023, in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
