Georgia Marie Montgomery, 90, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Glenhaven Retirement Village in Chickasha, Oklahoma. The daughter of Thomas Martin Richey and Bertha Pearl (Sitton) Richey, she was born November 14, 1927 in Blanchard, Oklahoma.
Georgia married Charles Richard Montgomery on January 9, 1946 in Chickasha and he preceded her in death on August 6, 2001. In 1959, Georgia went to work as a beautician with Fern Dennis in Blanchard. Then in 1975 she bought a beauty shop in Alex and worked there until she retired in 1995. She loved being a beautician. Georgia was a devoted wife, mother, and an adoring grandmother. The grandchildren loved spending the summers at the farm. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blanchard. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, counted cross stitch, and painting. She was a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals and baking for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; one daughter, Sandra Kay Engel; one son Larry Duane Montgomery; one grandson, Lance Montgomery; son-in-law, Chip Krohn; three sisters, Delta Harrison, Anna Lee Sellers, and Mildred Cluck; and five brothers, Doyle Richey, Gene Richey, T.M. Richey, Billy Joe Richey, and Gaylon Richey.
Georgia is survived by two daughters, Charlcie Marie Guthery and her husband, Roger, of Yukon and Sherry Lynn Krohn of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren, Kerri Richards, Ryan Guthery, Jason McIntire, Amber Williams, Josh Engel, and Lacey Montgomery; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Bertie Wright of Ft. Worth, Texas; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 30, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Blanchard.
Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
