Lois Jean Anderson was born April 19, 1945 in Okla. City, OK, the oldest of 4 children born to Truman and Marie Anderson. She was raised in Blanchard and attended school there, graduating with the Lion’s Class of 1964. Lois’s life was changed forever when she reunited with an old high school friend from Newcastle. He was working on his car when two ladies walked by. He knew he had to say something to her, and so he picked himself up and started a conversation. His name was Ray Martin, and this conversation would lead to many more. On August 8, 1964, Lois married Ray in Blanchard. They made their home in Newcastle, where together they raised two sons, Kevin and Kyle. For many years, Lois worked as a cashier for Richards Grocery Store in Blanchard. Her greatest joy was her family, and she cherished her grandchildren. When she wasn’t working, Lois enjoyed baking cakes, and she shared her talents with her family and friends. She was an excellent cook and will forever remembered for her pot roast and her enchiladas. She was a wonderful wife and mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a true friend. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Truman and Marie Anderson.Burial will follow at the Blanchard Cemetery.
