Michael Dwight “Doc” Manuel, D.D.S., of Newcastle, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, in Oklahoma City, OK.

Michael Manuel, son of James David Manuel and Wanda Lee (Race) Manuel, was born on December 16, 1955, in Oklahoma City, OK. He is the eldest of six brothers. Michael graduated in 1974 from Berryhill High School.

Following graduation, Michael enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served as a flight operations coordinator for four years. While in the Army, Michael attended Cameron University where he earned a bachelor of science. Following his military service, Michael went to school at University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry where he earned his doctor of dental surgery (D.D.S.). Michael worked as a general dentist in his own private practice for thirty years in Oklahoma City, OK.

In his free time, Michael spent as much time as he could outdoors, playing golf, hunting, and fishing with his family. Also, when not working, Michael was always busy playing with grandchildren and tinkering in his garage. He spent a great deal of time tending his property (mowing!). He also loved crafting gifts out of scrap wood for his children and (especially) his grandchildren. Michael has been described as being very generous, blessing others as often as he could. Michael has been a faithful member of Capitol Hill Assembly of God church for 33 years. Over the years, Michael had the opportunity to serve the church as a board member and usher, as well as travel to other countries on multiple mission trips. Michael’s identity centered around his faith and family, which guided the way he lived his life. He lived and died in his firm faith of eternal life and will be greatly missed!

He was preceded in death by his father, Reverend James David Manuel and his brother Douglas Lee Manuel.

Michael is survived by his wife, Wanda Rae Manuel, their children Marissa (Manuel) Turner and her spouse Reverend Dustin Turner, Aaron Manuel and his spouse Amanda Manuel, Allen Manuel and his spouse Jacinda Manuel, and bonus son Brian Manuel and his spouse Rachael Manuel, as well as five grandchildren, Braxton, Annalise, Ezra, Adam, and Axle. Michael is also survived by his mother Wanda Lee Manuel, and four younger brothers, Kenneth, Jeffrey, Charlie, and Steve Manuel, along with many nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be from 12:00pm to 8:00pm with family present from 4:00pm-6:00pm, Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, June 26, 2023, at Capitol Hill Assembly of God in Oklahoma City. Burial to follow at the Blanchard Cemetery.
