Blanchard, McClain Co, OK
(permission granted)
Lula lived a full and memorable life. She and Scott celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 1992 and throughout her lifetime they traveled to nearly all 50 states including Mexico and the Bahamas, but Lula always said she loved Oklahoma the best. As Oklahoma celebrated its Centennial, Lula was among the 30 honorees also celebrating 100 years. Farming and gardening were among her favorite hobbies and all of Lula’s four children, six grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 19 great, great grandchildren could attest to her wonderful cooking and baking skills.
Lula witnessed the Great Depression, eighteen presidents, and four wars. Needless-to-say, she experienced life to the fullest and felt volumes of love and admiration from her family and friends. Her life truly was a celebration. She took her last breath while praying with the hospice Chaplain – almost as if she was being welcomed Home.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Interment will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
