Eisenhour Funeral Home
Blanchard, McClain Co, OK
(permission granted)
Vera was raised and went
to school in Union City, where
she met Emil William Ketter.
They were married August 14,
1943 at Camp Phillip (Military
Base) in Salina Kansas, before
Emil went overseas to serve in
the Army in World War II. She
returned to Emil's family home
in Okarche to start a family and
wait for his return. She worked
at taking in ironing, picking
cotton, herding cattle and
hauling hay. In her younger
days, she enjoyed making
homemade bread and fried chicken
for her family. One of her
favorite things over the years
was dancing with Emil to
Bohemian Music at their favorite
hall. Later, she enjoyed
gardening at Blanchard Senior
Village and she loved the fact
they called it “Vera's Garden.”
She was preceded in death by her
parents; her husband, Emil Ketter; four sisters; and three
brothers.
Vera is survived by two daughters, Wilma Little of Del City, and Phyllis Adams and husband Ray of Blanchard; one son, Allen Ketter and wife Susan of Blanchard; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Louise “PeeWee” Carel of Union City; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
