Blanchard, McClain Co, OK
(permission granted)
Louis Edward Johnston was born to James Elmer and Beatrice
(Davis) Johnston on November 28th, 1931, in Woodward, Oklahoma. He went to be
with the Lord on February 10, 2015 at his home in Blanchard.
Louie, (as he was known to family and friends) grew up near Mooreland and
Tangier. He graduated from Tangier High School in 1949. Shortly after graduating
from High School he joined the Navy and began his military duty. After the
military he took a job in Ft. Supply, Oklahoma and it was there that he met
Marjorie (Margie) Hollman. She soon became his partner, soul mate, best friend,
and wife on June 24, 1956. From this union five children were born; Deborah
Pauline (Debbie), Richard Lyle (Rick), Patricia Ann (Patty), Ronald Eugene
(Ronnie), and Randell Lee (Randy).
The couple moved to Blanchard in 1962 and lived in the same house while raising
all five of their children. Louie was an employee of AT&T and for the majority
of his career he worked nights. Margie was a nurse at St. Anthony Hospital, but
was a stay at home Mom after having her children. Louie began working days for a
few years, but opted for an early retirement and became more involved with his
children, farming and cattle. Louie and Margie lived a happy, comfortable life,
enjoying visits from their kids, grandkids, and later their great grandkids.
They were also huge game fans and loved to play Canasta, Yahtzee, marbles,
dominos, and many other games. Basketball was also a huge part of the Johnston
household.
Survivors include his five children and their spouses: Debbie and her husband,
David, of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Rick and his wife, Denise, of Blanchard,
Oklahoma, Patty of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ronnie and his wife, Royetta, of
Laverne, Oklahoma, and Randy and his wife, Katie, of Watertown, New York. He is
also survived by twelve grandchildren; Chassity Miller Leone, Ashley Johnston
Tallant, Rebecca Sauer, Chance Miller, Amber Johnston Garrett, Adam Sauer, Chad
Johnston, Kayla Johnston, Brandon Taft, Tyler Johnston, Kevin Parks, and Angie
Johnston; nineteen great grandchildren that he adored visits from; Damen,
Kameron, Michael, Zach, Syreena, Cody, Belle, Emerson, Brooklyn, Haliegh,
Hannah, Holly, Houston, Madyson, Myah, Mazie, Jace, Micah, and Allison Marjorie.
Louie was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bea Johnston; wife,
Margie, of the home; three brothers, Elmer Lee Johnston, Charley Johnston, and
Lyle Johnston; one sister, Pearl Ann Hunter; and one brother-in-law, Elmer
Hunter.
Louie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. We all
loved him so very much, but have known for a while that his wish was to be back
in the arms of his wife and soul mate. He was funny and kind and always treated
others with the utmost respect.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., February 13, 2015 at the Eisenhour
Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery.
