Funeral services for Verna Lee Johnson, 80 of Mustang, were held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blanchard with interment following in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard.

Verna Lee Johnson was born June 8, 1932 in Mountain Park, Oklahoma and died January 31, 2013 in Piedmont. She was the daughter of Dewey Wakefield and Tula Josephine (Brannon) Daily. Verna retired from the State Department of Agriculture as a Senior Lab Tech and was of the Full Gospel faith. Over the years, she was very involved in several churches. She sang in the choir and with a group called “The Gospel Dischords.” and was always ready to help anyone in need. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and collecting antiques, but her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Verna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy R. Johnson; daughter, Sharon Lee Johnson; two sons, Jimmy Johnson and Billy Johnson; one sister, Juanita Baird; two brothers, Wayne Daily and Lynn Daily; and brother-in-law, Frank Baird.

Survivors include three daughters, Ronda Whitener of Edmond, Brenda Green and husband Dale of Yukon, and Barbara Carter and husband Dennis of Piedmont; daughter-in-law, Susie Johnson of Yukon; two sons, Rodney Johnson of Tuttle and Larry Johnson and wife Jeannie of Norman; 20 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and two more on the way; one great-great grandchild; sister, Adeline Voyles and husband J.W. of Tahlequah; two sisters-in-law, Louise Daily of Oklahoma City and Shirley Daily of Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
