Michael Raymond Hughes, 74, of Blanchard, died Friday, January 8, 2021, in Norman. The son of Virgil Raymond Hughes and Alice Marie (Couchman) Hughes, he was born March 13, 1946 in Blanchard.
Michael was a 1964 graduate of Blanchard High School. He married Carlotta Wilson Swanson on September 26, 1964 in Blanchard. He was Baptist in faith. He worked for Western Electric, and then Scrivner Foods, before working alongside his wife, as a food service vendor for the Department of Visual Services for many years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, Carlotta Hughes; and a brother, William Hughes.
He is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Schwartz of Blanchard; two sons, David Hughes of Cedar Park, Texas, and Cory Hughes of Blanchard; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Randy Hughes of McAlester; and many other loved ones and friends.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 15, 2021, in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
