Lloyd Haygood, 78, of Blanchard, left this earthly life on Thursday, June
23, 2016, in Houston, Texas. The son of Bonnie Stripling Haygood and Lula
Mae (Wright) Haygood, he was born March 7, 1938 in Blanchard, Oklahoma.
Lloyd grew up in Cole and worked alongside his brother, Byron, in the cotton
fields. When they weren’t working, they loved riding horses and playing
softball.
Lloyd married the love of his life, Alice Fay Rolen, on August 1, 1958. They
celebrated 57 years of marriage. When he was younger, Lloyd enjoyed going to
the lake and fishing with his family. He worked for OG&E and retired after
30 years of service. Later in life, Lloyd enjoyed playing golf. He was a
member of the First Baptist Church in Blanchard. Lloyd enjoyed spending time
with his “Coffee Shop Buddies” and faithfully made his rounds every day. He
will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Stephen Lloyd Haygood; his
wife, Alice Fay Haygood; and two brothers-in-law, Donald Waggoner and Bob
Ham.
Lloyd is survived by his two daughters, Diana Caldwell and her husband,
Darren, and Kristi Adamson and her husband, Gary, all of Blanchard; four
grandchildren, Derek Caldwell and his wife, Michele, Deah Caldwell, and Jill
Garcia, all of Blanchard, and Ryan Garcia and his wife, Amanda, of Moore;
ten great-grandchildren, Joel, Ashtynn, Adrian, Carrie, Aaliyah, Ben, Jack,
Hattie, Olivia, and Scarlett; three sisters, Minnie Ham of Joplin, Missouri,
Barbara Waggoner of Blanchard, and Teresa Sneed and her husband, John, of
Blanchard; one brother, Byron Haygood and his wife, Andra, of Blanchard;
sisters-in-law, Jo Wilson and her husband, Ed, of Blanchard, Wanda Jean
Rolen of Norman and Wanda Lean Rolen of Blanchard; numerous nieces and
nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, Sunday, June 26, 2016,
at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday,
June 27, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Blanchard. Burial will follow
in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour
