Robert Virgil “Bob” Harrell Obit

Robert Virgil "Bob" Harrell, 84, of Blanchard, died Thursday, November 30, 2023, at his home.

The son of Omer Virgil Harrell and Ada (Forehand) Harrell, he was born June 22, 1939, in Upland, Indiana.

Bob married Glenda Pauline Whaley on March 11, 1960, in El Reno. He served in the US Air Force and worked for Tinker AFB as a sheet metal fabricator for thirty years until his retirement. Bob was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church and enjoyed the music and participating in Trunk or Treat. He owned and operated Fisherman’s Choice LLC Team Bass Fishing Tournaments for many years. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Bob’s greatest enjoyment was being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Glenda; and one brother, Jack Forehand.

Bob is survived by one son, Kevin Harrell and his wife, Cretia, of Blanchard; one daughter, Robyn Swinney and her husband, Raymond, of Blanchard; four grandchildren, Rikki Herron of Moore, and Renee Swinney, Nicci Harrell, Christi Clark and her husband, Michael, all of Blanchard; nine great grandchildren, Aubree, Carter, Raygan, Braylan, Reese, Perri, Pierce, Emma, and Hadley; his sister, Helen Netzley of Indiana; his dear friend and “Coffee Buddy,” Kenneth Woodrum; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends. A special thank you to Robbi and Tyrone of Apex Hospice for their wonderful care given to Bob.

Bob’s funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle. Interment with military honors will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
