Robert James Green, 87, of Blanchard, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023, at his home in Blanchard. The son of Ira Robert Green and Ruby Mae (Burns) Green, he was born on July 3, 1935, in Blanchard, Oklahoma.
Robert married the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth Goodmiller on May 31, 1957. Together they had three loving sons.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic, for 20 years. He loved spending his spare time outdoors doing various activities including countless camping trips with his family, fishing, and rock hunting. Robert would even make jewelry with his rock hunting finds. Once his sons were out of the house, he and Mary would pack up their travel trailer and set off on their many adventures. They absolutely adored getting the chance to travel, see the country, and visit many state parks.
Robert was also a proud member of the Cole Town Council and was heavily involved in community activities. He was a proud follower of Christ and member of the Blanchard Church of Christ. He will be deeply missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Robert is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Green of Blanchard; three sons, Tony Green and his wife, Becky, of Snyder, Kevin Green of Blanchard, and Eric Green and his wife, Diane, of Ponca City; five grandchildren, Austin Green, Sunny Green, Jennifer Green, Taylor Green, and Courtney Williams; seven great grandchildren; and many more loving family members and friends
Viewing will be from 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at the Blanchard Church of Christ. Burial to follow in the Blanchard Cemetery.
