Upon his graduation from Blanchard schools, Ron moved to Norman where he met his wife, Rhonda Jean Hooper. They were married on May 24, 1969 and lived together in Norman where they recently celebrated their 43rd anniversary.

Ron worked for Tyler and Simpson for 15 years where he made many wonderful friends and memories. Ron then worked for Norman Public Schools for 21 years, retiring from Lincoln Elementary in 2010. He greatly enjoyed his time within the school system and all of the friendships made during his tenure.

Ron’s biggest sense of pride was his family including his wife, three sons, seven grandchildren and two beloved dogs. He was well-known for his wonderful sense of humor and contagious laugh which his family will miss tremendously.

Ron had a great passion for the simple things in life including cars, music, his favorite TV shows and most importantly, great conversation with friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Buster; sisters, Linda Moody and NIckie Gray.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda, of Norman; sons, Kevin Gray and wife Amber of Stillwater, Steven Gray and wife Holly of Norman, and James Gray and wife Julie of Stillwater; grandchildren, Jake Ryan, Lauryn Deddy-Dawn, Kayla Leigh, Braxton Scott, Harrison Rider, Colby Spencer, and Logan James; brothers, Tommy Gray and wife Jeraline of Norman, Paul Gray and wife Melva of Purcell, and Harold Gray and wife Sharon of Norman; sisters, Martha Jo Patton of Kansas City, Missouri, Beth Hollcroft and husband Ken of Blanchard, and Brenda Olmeda and husband Joe of Washington; many other loved ones and friends.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Blanchard Cemetery with Billy Boyd officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
