Charles was a member of the Church of Christ and served as a minister for over 50 years. He worked for OG&E and retired after 33 years of service. Over the years, Charles and his wife opened up their hearts and home to several foster children. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and remodeling.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Meredith (Cable) Fischer; and one brother, Ralph Fischer.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Fischer, of Duncan; three daughters, Kelly Joe Atkins and Brandon of Byars, Karen Lee Canary of Oklahoma City, and Angela Gayle Hood and Terry Walsh of Bethany; five sons, Charles Lynn Fischer and Sharlene of Nuyaka, Kevin Karl Fischer of Newcastle, Jon Fredric Fischer of Wagner, Jamie Wayne Fischer and Lorena of Warr Acres, and Kelsey Eugene Avants of Marlow; 21 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery.
