(permission granted)

Sandy Ferguson, age 72 of Newcastle, passed away Monday, November 30, 2020. Sanford Allen Ferguson was born March 31, 1948 in Quanah, Texas, the baby of 4 children born to Doyle Truman Ferguson and Willie Marie (Allen) Ferguson. When he was yet a young man, the Ferguson family moved to Newcastle. Sandy was raised a Racer, and a standout for baseball team, and graduated from Newcastle High School with the Class of 1966. The very next month, on June 13th, Sandy married his longtime sweetheart, Donna Elizabeth Talkington. Their friendship began in the 7th Grade, and carried all the way through school. They made their home in Newcastle where together they raised three children, daughters, Joy and JoDee and son, Tom. Sandy was a hard worker and a great provider, with a great work ethic second to none. He logged many miles on the open road driving for Roadway Trucking, throughout his 40+ years. When he wasn’t working, Sandy was probably chasing his kids and grandkids in their various activities and sporting events. He loved bird dogs and quail hunting and was ever so fond of his best dog, Jack. Sandy looked forward to coffee with the boys every morning at Wynne’s Feed Store, and often affectionately referred to himself as the “guest speaker”. He was fun loving and enjoyed a good laugh; he lived and loved hard. He was a wonderful husband and father, the best grandfather and great grandfather, brother, uncle and a true friend. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Doyle and Willie Marie Ferguson; sister Kay Mason and infant brother, Don Ted Ferguson.

Sandy is survived by: his loving wife, Donna of the home; Daughters, Joy Eidenshink of Blanchard and JoDee Durham and husband Josh of Tulsa; son, Tom Ferguson and wife Amy of Lindsay; Brother, Norman Ferguson and wife Carla of Newcastle; grandchildren, Michael Ferguson, Jesse Eidenshink, Kellee Jo Jensen and husband Clay, Brett Killingsworth and wife Wytney, Hollee Carpenter and husband Blake, Ty Ferguson and Allie Beth Ferguson; great grandchildren, Aubrey Dee Ferguson, Remington Carpenter, Colt Killinsworth, Banks Carpenter and Addison Grace Eidenshink; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 4, 2020, at Blanchard Cemetery. Send online condolences at www.wilsonlittle.com.
