James Darold Dye James Darold
Dye, 78, of Blanchard, died Saturday, October 22, 2016, at his home. The son
of J.D. Dye and Lela Evelyn (Testerman) Dye, he was born January 16, 1938 in
Foster, Oklahoma.

He served in the Army National Guard for 8 ½ years. He worked as a
pipefitter and retired from General Motors after 27 years of service. Darold
married Rita Frances (Davis) Hurst on July 22, 1988 in Oklahoma City. He was
a member of the Del City Bass Club and the UAW. He enjoyed training horses,
calf roping, and raising game chickens. Darold loved the outdoors and spent
countless hours training bird dogs, hunting quail and pheasant, training
champion coon dogs, coon hunting, and fishing. His greatest enjoyment came
from spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lynn Dye; and a brother,
Charles Dye.
Darold is survived by his wife, Rita Dye, of Blanchard; one daughter, Kelly
Ecker and her husband, Dan, of Blanchard; one son, Randy Hurst of Texas;
seven grandchildren, Tiffany Campos and her husband, Luis, of Bethany,
Whitney Hurst and Gerardo Rendon of Oklahoma City, Lacey Hurst of Bethany,
Kelsi Gentry of Edmond, Rylee Hurst of Texas, Jaelee Hurst of Texas, and
Mickinlee Hurst of Texas; five great grandchildren, Cruz, Cristian, Jazlyn,
Briahna, and Dayana; one sister, Nita Kelly of Texas; a sister-in-law,
Barbara Dye, of Newcastle; and many other loved ones and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 28, 2016, at the
Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Memorial donations may be made
in Darold’s name to the Elevate Church Building Fund, 10600 S. Pennsylvania
Ave, Ste. 16 PMB 332, Oklahoma City, OK 73170-4257. Arrangements are under
