Alfred Frank Coster, 79 of Blanchard, passed away on May 1, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The son of Alfred Isadore and Fern Caroline (McDanel) Coster, Al was born September 4, 1943, in Centerville, Iowa.
Al married the love of his life, Carol Westphalen on June 24, 1967, in Davenport, Iowa. Al was a Vietnam Veteran, having proudly served in the United States Air Force. He later received his bachelor’s degree and was an instructor at the FAA, where he retired after thirty years of service in 2000. Al and Carol also owned and operated C-Ann Quilts, LLC, a machine quilting business. He was a member of the Oklahoma Machine Quilters Association. Al was also a highly skilled woodworker. He founded a woodworking group called SAWWS in Oklahoma City that made toys to donate to local charities. Al was Catholic in faith. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and all who knew him.
Al is preceded in death by his father, Alfred Coster and son, Al Coster.
Al is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Coster of Blanchard; one son, Ben Coster and his wife, Aida Tessema of Texas; two grandchildren, Annie Coster and Alex Coster, both of Texas; his mother, Fern Coster of Chickasha; one sister, Karen Kenyon of Nebraska; and many other loving family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 5, 2023, at the Blanchard Cemetery in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
