Edna Leona Cornish of Newcastle Oklahoma passed away peacefully on February 12, 2024.
Her favorite past times were gardening and having family gatherings whether at home, a lake house, or a neighbor’s house.
She will be remembered for her generosity with her love, dedication and wit, making others laugh even throughout her final days.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Leon Thomas; sister, Sue Shipman and brother-in-law, Pete Shipman; and infant brother, Ricky.
She is survived by her uncle, Dana Thomas; brother, Jack Thomas (wife Reba); her daughter, Michelle Quamme (husband Kevin); son, Tommy Cornish; three granddaughters, Elizabeth Quamme, Megan Fischer (husband Sam), and Caitlyn Quamme; one great-granddaughter, Dawsyn Fischer and two young men she loved as grandsons; nieces Misti Shipman and her children Jordyn LeClaire (fiancé Jared), Dakota LeClaire (Maddie and Rowan), Allyson LeClaire (Dreyden); Tammie Crawford (Michael, Kelli, Tyler, Jackie and Michaela) Bree Clipson (Travis, Cole, Dylan, Kate) Brittney Horsell (Jordan); nephew, Tom Wesley Thomas, and many other extended family members. Living across the street from the Samsel family for over 50 years, she loved them as family and often introduced Shelli Samsel as her girl.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery.
