Nicholas Clay Collins, 32, of Blanchard, died Monday, February 11, 2019, at his home. The son of Julie Lynn (Glimp) Sluder and Barry Turner Collins, he was born April 13, 1986 in Norman, Oklahoma.
He was a member of the Iron Workers Local #48. Nick was very proud and honored to be able to work on the Freedom Tower in New York City. Nick was Baptist in faith. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and spending time with his friends and family. Nick was good with his hands, and loved tinkering with things, and could fix almost anything. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe Glimp, Vernon and Leatrice Sluder, and Clarence and Nancy Collins; his father, Barry Collins; and two uncles, Mike Sluder and Sonny Brandt.
Nick is survived by his daughter, Sadie Collins, of Blanchard; his mother Julie Sluder and her husband, Tim, of Blanchard; his fiancée, Kellby Taylor and her daughter, Mackinzie, of Blanchard; four sisters, Katey Carter and her husband, Garrett, of Blanchard, Darla Shupert and her husband, Hoss, of Blanchard, Cheyenne Collins of Blanchard, and Courtney Collins of Blanchard; one brother, Chad Sluder of Oklahoma City; his grandmother, Joy Wilson, of Blanchard; his grandfather, David Wilson of Blanchard; aunts and uncles, Jana Hammer of Newcastle, Joe and Erin Glimp of Edmond, John Glimp of Blanchard; and Debbie Brandt of Blanchard; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 15, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Blanchard.
Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
