Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base where he worked as a supply technician for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bill spent countless hours collecting cans and gave the money that he got for them to his favorite charity, St. Jude’s.
During his life, Bill was blessed with four wives, they all preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, one son, one granddaughter, and many other family and friends.
He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Yelton and husband,
Phillip, of Moore; and a son, William Lee “Bill” Carter, Jr. of
Oklahoma City; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two
sisters; one brother; and many other loved ones and friends. Before
he died, Bill told his family, “Don’t mourn or shed tears for me,
I’ve had a blessed life.”
Graveside funeral service will be at 3:00
PM, Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Blanchard Cemetery. Bill
believed that people should send flowers to the living, when they
can still enjoy them. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be
made to St. Jude’s in Bill’s memory. Arrangements are under the
direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary
and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
