Octa (Wooley) Cannon, 95, of Blanchard, died Friday, April 11, 2014 at her home. The daughter of William Elija Wooley and Doll Ethel (Harris) Wooley, she was born October 20, 1918 in Huckabay, Texas. Octa married Karl Cannon in Decatur, Texas on February 3, 1935. She was employed by Safeway for 28 years as a customer service representative in their bakery department. Octa was a Methodist in faith. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, gardening, and canning vegetables. She also loved cooking meals and baking pies and cakes for her family.

Octa was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Karl Cannon; a son, Dan Cannon; two sons-in-law, Charles Powell and Harold “Boots” Fugett; a grandson, Skip Cannon; five brothers; and four sisters.

She is survived by her two daughters, Glenda Fugett of Blanchard and Karlene Powell of Guthrie; her grandchildren, Todd Fugett of Ada, Bryan Fugett of Stillwater, Shelley Edgmon of Blanchard, Robyn Steuer and her husband, Dan, of Boulder, Colorado, Deborah Lingerfelt and her husband, Bill, of Guthrie, Diana Farley and her husband, Steve, of Newalla, Mike Powell and his wife, Dorthy of Oklahoma City, Patrice Calvert and her husband, Keith, of Guthrie, Naomi Cannon of Blanchard; David Cannon of Blanchard, and Penny Cannon of Tennessee; her fifteen great grandchildren; her seven great-great grandchildren; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
