Ralph Dwain Callaway, Jr., 60, of Blanchard, died Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in Blanchard. The son of Ralph Dwain Callaway, Sr. and Noah Mae (Cisco) Callaway, he was born August 24, 1962, in La Mesa, California.
Ralph graduated from Blanchard High School and played on the 1979 State Championship Football Team. He married Becky Ruth Brooks on April 29, 1982, in Blanchard. Ralph was a Captain with the Newcastle Fire Department, where he faithfully served for 27 1/2 years until recently retiring. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching drag races and traveling. He loved spending time with his grandkids and attending their ball games. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Callaway, Sr., and a son, Robert Callaway.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Becky (Brooks) Callaway of Blanchard; one son, Roy Callaway and wife, Lauren, of Blanchard; three grandchildren, Hesston, Mason, and Holden Callaway; his mother, Dr. Noah Callaway Pippins and husband, Jim, of Blanchard; one sister, Lynn Callaway of Crescent; his lifelong friend, Ron Walters of California; aunt and uncle, Lala and Bob Hill of California; cousin, Lori Hansen and her family, of California; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Connie and Roy Dean Brooks of Blanchard; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Tina Brooks and their family, of Blanchard; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Brenda Brooks and Cameron Dauer and their family, of Texas; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 12, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available atwww.eisenhourfh.com.
