Norma Jean Brooks, 87, of Edmond, formerly of Blanchard, died Tuesday, October 30, 2018, in Edmond.
The daughter of James Aubrey Tuttle and Mildorene (Turner) Tuttle, she was born November 15, 1930 in Goldsby, Oklahoma. Jean married Billy Ray Brooks on February 18, 1950 in Chickasha. They lived in Oklahoma City before moving back to Blanchard in 1998. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blanchard for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, word search puzzles, pottery, and sewing. Jean was a great cook and everyone loved her dressing, potato salad, and fried chicken.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Brooks; and one sister, Barbara Mentzer.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Warren and her husband, Eddie, of Edmond; two sons, Butch Brooks and his wife, Karla, of Blanchard and Michael Brooks and his wife, Rhonda, of Blanchard; five grandchildren, Heather Winn and her husband, Mike, of Moore, Brooke Warren of Edmond, Sean Brooks and his wife, Kristi, of Tuttle, Brett Brooks and his wife, Adena, of Blanchard, and Mariah Brooks of Blanchard; eight great grandchildren, Michael Winn, Madysen Smith, Kayleigh Smith, Bode Brooks, Braylon Brooks, Jacie Brooks, Jordie Brooks, and Jersie Brooks; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 2, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Blanchard.
Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
