He married Myrna Joy Miller on January 2, 1962 in Oklahoma City. Monty was a true horseman and spent many years breeding and training quarter horses until his health began declining. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Maxine Sullivan; his two brothers, Bill and Dalton Brooks.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Myrna Brooks of
Blanchard; his daughter, Robin Sullivan and her husband,
Shawn, of Blanchard; his two grandchildren, Montana
Sullivan and Layla Sullivan; his brother, Jack Brooks
and his wife, Wynona of Nichols Hills; his
sister-in-law, Jean Brooks of Oklahoma City; his
brother-in-law, Lloyd Sullivan of Round Rock, Texas; and
a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews,
and friends.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 28, 2014
at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blanchard.
