(permission granted)

Coy Dean Bennett, 75, of Blanchard, died Saturday, July 25, 2015, at his home. The son of Mike Bennett and Althea Josephine (Giles) Bennett, he was born August 4, 1939, in Carnegie, Oklahoma. Coy was raised in the Alfalfa community and attended school in Cowden.

Raised by strong Christian parents, Coy accepted Christ as his personal Savior during a 1946 revival meeting at Pleasant View Baptist Church and was baptized in the First Baptist Church of Carnegie.

Coy married Phyllis Kay Luper on May 23, 1959 in Alfalfa, Oklahoma. After working construction for a few years, he went to work for Aero Commander in Bethany, Oklahoma in 1961. The couple decided to start a family and raised two sons. In 1976, they relocated to Blanchard, Oklahoma and purchased ten acres upon which to make their home. Though the company that Coy worked for changed names several times, Coy remained a respected employee to this aircraft company. In 2001, he retired from Gulfstream Aerospace Technologies after forty years of service.

Coy was an active member of New Life Baptist Church in Blanchard. In his spare time, he enjoyed raising and showing American Quarter Horses, farming, and raising cattle. Along with his brother Bob, Coy restored several old John Deere tractors. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bobby Lee Bennett; a brother-in-law, Bob Shaw, and a nephew, Mikel Bennett.

Coy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kay Bennett of Blanchard; two sons, Kyle Bennett of Blanchard, and Kelly Bennett and wife, Rhonda, of Tuttle; four grandchildren, Amanda Barber and husband, Justin, of Blanchard, Darren Bennett of Blanchard, Cody Bennett of Blanchard, and Randi Rowland of Purcell; four great grandchildren, Noah, Kaylyn, Kenna, and Kolten; one sister, Evelyn Shaw of Fort Cobb; a sister-in-law, Jo Nell Bennett of Blanchard; three nieces, Janet Bennett of Blanchard, Cindy Murphy of Albert, and Cathey Davis of Eakly; one nephew Brad Shaw of Fort Cobb; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
