Phyllis Jean Barrington, 90, of Blanchard, died Thursday, July 6, 2023, in Norman. The daughter of Arthur Elmer Belew and Odell Elizabeth (Gaston) Belew, she was born April 5, 1933, in Chickasha.
Phyllis graduated from Chickasha High School in 1951. She worked at various jobs throughout her life but was primarily a homemaker and was Christian in faith. In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed shopping on QVC, baking, and decorating her home for holidays. She had a gift of hospitality and loved entertaining in her home. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and playing Bingo and various types card games and dominoes. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Gayla Barrington; a great grandson, Jeremy Shields; three sisters, Pauline, Mert, and Betty; and two brothers, Russell and Wayne.
Phyllis is survived by two daughters, Teresa Claypool and husband, Bobby, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Tracy Adams and husband, Dove, of Purcell; one son, Gary Barrington of Blanchard; eleven grandchildren, Melissa, Heather, Clint, Stephanie, Jessica, Audray, Justin, Shannon, Ashley, Chance, and Samantha; twenty-two great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Viewing for friends and family will be from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the funeral home. The family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 10, 2023, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery.
