Maxine Roberta Allen, 89, of Blanchard, died Sunday, November 20, 2016, at her home. The daughter of Trulen Travis Ragsdale and Katie May (Whitener) Ragsdale, she was born October 28, 1927, in Blanchard, Oklahoma.

Maxine married Walter Ray Allen on December 12, 1945, in Chickasha. She worked in foodservice at the University of Oklahoma for over 10 years before retiring. She was a longtime member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blanchard, where she was active in the Hillbillies. She was a faithful member of the church and her church family were very special to her. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching OU sports and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Allen; her brother, Raymond Ragsdale; a son-in-law, Wesley Kennedy; a grandson-in-law, J.R. McComas; and a great grandson, Blake Ryan Kennedy.

Maxine is survived by two daughters, Sharan Kennedy of Amber, and Carolyn Baker and husband, Bruce, of Henderson, Texas; six grandchildren, Steve Kennedy and wife, Laura, of Amber, Kim Clift and husband, Mark, of Pocasset, Ted Kennedy and wife, Yvonne, of Chickasha, Christie McComas of Amber, Katie Voegeli and husband, Jared, of Pocasset, and Melody Baker and husband, Wayne, of Cleburne, Texas; eleven great grandchildren, Jennifer, Jakob, Kolby, Addison, Travis, Avery, Ainslee, Pailynn, Harper, Ryan, and Adam; her aunt, Lula Mock of Blanchard; a sister-in-law, Lavelle Ragsdale of Blanchard, a brother-in-law, J.L. Allen and wife, Barbara, of Tuttle; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
