Kenneth Wayne Polston
August 25, 1930 - November 20, 2024
Kenneth Wayne Polston, 94-year-old Pryor resident, passed away late Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at his home. He was born on August 25, 1930, in Lockwood, Missouri to Ray and Frances (Grider) Polston. Kenneth grew up and graduated from Golden City, Missouri high school in 1949. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, earning his Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and three bronze service stars. Kenneth went to work for John Deere and was a member of the Oil, Chemical, and Atomic Workers Union. Later he went to work for American Airlines as an aircraft mechanic, and was a member of the Transport Workers Union #514, before retiring in 1996. Kenneth married Carol Lavaughn (Cravens) on November 3, 1964, in Pryor. He enjoyed going to auctions, flea markets, working in his yard, and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Oletha Mae "Letha" Michels in 2020.
The family includes his wife Carol of the home, daughters, Kristy Childers and husband Mickey of Conroe, Texas, Kelly Froese of Claremore, five grandchildren, Chandra Revelle, Elisha Medlock, Tyler Froese, Cooper Childers, Campbell Childers, and eight great-grandchildren.
The celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Stephens-Key Chapel, Pastor Stephani Crogan will officiate. Interment will follow at the Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.stephens-key.com or on the funeral home Facebook page.
